To encourage research, study and new ideas leading to the development of the sport of athletics, every two years European Athletics invites entries for the European Athletics Innovation Awards. The competition is open to individuals or teams of scientists, academics, students, coaches, event organisers and others from European countries who wish to share their original work for the benefit of the sport.

By the eighth year of the competition, which was held in 2012, was registered a record number of 46 works from 21 countries. All the more we are pleased that we managed to win in Open category with our thesis Running with poles as an efficient training method eliminating overstraining of athlete’s feet.
